The Fruit of Spring
According to Greek mythology, the explanation for the change of seasons comes from Demeter's celebration when her daughter, Persephone, returns from the Underworld where, after being abducted by Hades, and tricked into eating pomegranate seeds, she stays for six months. Persephone has come to represent the regrowth of spring vegetation after a barren winter season. From drinking our delicious pomegranate cherry juice to adding a shot of pomegranate syrup to your favorite beverage, The Café has a variety of ways to indulge in the sweetness of the myth.
